Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) matriculated a total of 2,678 students as the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel promises Government Support to the University.
On Thursday, September 30, 2021, the Akwa Ibom State University (Aksu) held its 11th matriculation ceremony at the University Sports Ground, Main Campus, Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area. In the 2020/2021 Academic Session, a total of 2678 students were admitted, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nse Essien.
Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has pledged his administration’s determination to provide essential support to Akwa Ibom State University in order for the institution to continue on its academic upward mobility and realize the founding fathers’ ambitions.
Governor Emmanuel provided the promise at the University-Main Campus, Ikot Akpaden, during the 11th Matriculation Ceremony.
The State Chief Executive, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Idongesit Etiebiet, praised the University’s Governing Council, management, students, and staff for upholding academic standards.
He challenged freshly matriculating students to take advantage of the costly world of technology and use it to enhance their talents as entrepreneurial students and search for ways to create value for themselves and society at large.
Governor Emmanuel congratulated matriculating students on their admissions achievement but warned them against engaging in anti-social acts such as cult activities.
Earlier in his speech, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nse Essien, stated that 2678 students had been accepted into the university’s 40 programs.
Prof. Essien reassured the students that the University would create an environment that would allow them to achieve academic greatness.
As one of the country’s fastest-growing institutions, according to the former Education Commissioner, the University has had significant success in different areas of its activity.
The Vice-Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (Aksu) welcomed the freshmen and challenged them to put extra effort to attain long-term academic success. In addition, the University Boss warned them to avoid cultism and other anti-social vices, which may lead to their expulsion or suspension and charged them to be good ambassadors for their family, university, and the state at large.
The administration of oaths to the students by the University’s Registrar Dr. Ebi Eno Ibanga, as well as the presentation by their individual Deans, were also highlights of the ceremony.
The 11th matriculation ceremony of Akwa Ibom State University marked the first for Professor Essien, whose tenure as Vice-Chancellor started in August 2020.
Parents, University Senate, Management, Staff, and Students Union Executive attended the 11th Matriculation Ceremony of the Akwa Ibom State University, which drew a good turnout.
